STREAMS
Flowing true and sweet,
Streams from the Mountain of God
Purified, made clean, crystal clear,
Steady transparency watering the earth
Giving drinks to the thirsty wherever they may be found;
Free, without cost
Simply to all who ask.
Streams from the Throne; streams from every mountain throne
Leap down each hillside
Run with laughter along each way
Heading ultimately for the endless seas;
As if without care or concern
Determined, bent on entering the endless sea
To merge the lesser with the greater
Adding a small portion in return to the greatness,
As another facet in a stone cut true,
Degrees of brilliance weighed in the balance
And found complete.
Ocean waters given to this earth in measures of quality
With abundance overflowing and running off,
Almost always an unused portion returned as a picture,
As a constant reminder of all the untapped goodness in waiting
All the goodness from above longing to rain down
To be revealed, to be poured out into the lap
With so much more in waiting
The inexhaustible Source without end
Knowing no limits except lowered expectations
That dip in a cup when there could be fountains bursting!

HANDS THAT SHAPE
The world as a handful of dirt
Nations as dust upon true scales;
Stars tossed out into space
Hung as elaborate curtains,
As a veil set separating the limited from the limitless,
Man as creature, God the Lord as Creator
Every boundary established;
Time bound creatures rise and fall
As sure as the sun runs its daily course,
Fading, falling to earth come the end.
Though eagle's wings are held out as a promise, a hope
The body cannot lift itself from the earth;
Imaginations and intellect may roar off to distant places,
Sometimes rising into spiritual flares,
Yet the ground finally lays claim;
No matter what man has said, the ground lays claim.
The Sovereign One through whom all things come,
Reaches out His right hand
Once for peace, twice for judgment,
Cupping this earth once again
Sifting like wind, the breath of His mouth
Separating out the ones who really know
Who really want to know the touch;
The hand of Lordship,
The hand that reshapes, recreates a life thought lost,
Now found and kept as an eternal prize.
