This a short collection of about forty, done with my wife in mind. I was facing a heart related medical procedure that left me wondering about the outcome. So, I decided to honor her with this work in 2003.

FLOWER TIME
She stoops to pick flowers
Colors radiant as her smile
A melody of joy comes from silver lips
The whole body aglow, pulses with life
Gown interlaced with gold and silver and whitest white
A crown of flowers woven into the hair
Draped more like silk or spun platinum
Diamonds and other jewels reflect pure light
Stature in beauty realized
Life fulfillment in one so chosen
Ajewel in another crown
A flower in another field
One so loved, so favored
Lifted to unimagined heights
Enveloped and absorbed by the greatest power
The Sovereign who creates life within life
And pours joy as holy water'
Upon such blossoms, such beauty!

PASSION

She opens the wooden gate
And walks from the willow shadow,
Long skirt drags in the dirt and grass.
A woman grounded in the earth
With a spirit that dances among the stars
A passion for the details of each moment,
The pleasure of circumstance
Caring, gentle soul trailing laughter.
With each footstep the watcher flutters
A heart melts as warm butter
The heart races, an athlete, a warrior, a lover
Freshest and cleanest desire
Longing and purest hunger
The oneness begun as a fIre
A burning that never quite consumes
Hearts leap to meet each other
Gladness and quiet prayers whispered
The gentle breeze, the tenderness that moves in this place
Passion for a new life discovered
A new life given.
